Youth-led. Community-focused. Malawi-rooted.
Who we are

Community health, with people at the centre.

Malawi Community Health Initiative (MACHI) is a youth-led, health-focused non-governmental organization working to improve access to healthcare, especially in underserved and hard-to-reach communities in Malawi.

Our motto: Healthy Communities. Brighter Futures.

Our purpose

MACHI exists to help improve access to healthcare by supporting community-centred health education, preventive awareness, first-aid knowledge and responsible connections to appropriate health resources.

We believe that better community health depends on accessible information, listening to local priorities and working responsibly with qualified health professionals and relevant stakeholders.

A youth-led approach

As a youth-led initiative, MACHI aims to create meaningful ways for young people to contribute to stronger, healthier communities. Our public information will be updated as organizational details, governance arrangements and programme activities are confirmed.

Our approach

Listen locally

Begin with community priorities and the realities people face when seeking health information and support.

Share responsibly

Keep health information general, respectful and subject to review by an appropriately qualified professional.

Connect to qualified care

Recognize the limits of community information and support appropriate referral to authorized professionals.

Clinical and safeguarding boundaries

MACHI is not a hospital. Nothing on this website should be understood as a claim to provide licensed clinical services. Any clinical activity must be delivered by appropriately qualified and authorized professionals.
